You have your canvas, brush, paint all you need to start your blog art. But do you know your everything has no value if you miss one thing only ! YES , YOUR VISITORS !

Your Users Are Primary Audience And Most Important, NOT Search Engines.

The goal of foundational Content and Design optimization isn’t a child action game to the search engines. The purpose of this is:

  • Enjoyable and pleasing user experience .
  • Communicate to the search engines in a way  that they will recommend your blog for your contents .

There are 3 key factors that you can enhance on your WordPress blog that will help you to meet user experience and optimize it. The areas are –

Performance , Networking And Marketing

1. Performance

Performance will depends on 2 key factors – Content & Design.

Here are some concepts for the beginners up to actual methods you can use to increase your traffic while using Search Engines.

Content – The Idea

Optimize Meta tags

  • Check your content is follow or no follow.

<meta name=”robots” content=”nofollow” />

should be

<meta name=”robots” content=”follow” />

  • Be sure you have a unique, keyword focused Title tag on every page of your site and also optimized it that will match the content and meet the user expectations.
  • Update the blog in a timely manner – try to schedule the post for an week.
  • Use Semantic descriptions of all images by using Alternative text, or “alt text.
  • When you will interlinking from your content whether the anchor target to tags pages or another content then you should be very careful that it will not disturbing, imposing and wrong. Otherwise it will hamper both user browsing experience in your blog or Search engines.
  • Use LSI keywords within the content that will help the search engine for semantic indexing and also show you with the relevant topics and keywords.
  • Use author profile and marking for every content because Google is showing results by ranking authors also
  • Content length and word count should be as long as possible without hampering user experience.
  • Connect every content with real world by social plugins and networking. This ability of your content will be maximize your and popular the content.
  • Link to other real and credible blogs that will focus the related useful content.
  • Improve your content call to action plan as unique and attractive as possible.
  • Interviewing people and posting them on your blog is an excellent way to attract visitor it.
  • Check the content from mobile platform after every post.
  • If you mention any or image or video that is focusing or providing information of any industry then don’t forget to add disclosure about this.

Design – The Strategy

blog optimization

Users eye is your future. So satisfy it with proper balancing with the accurate optimization.

On creating a blog design that works

Important areas to focus on when creating a blog design

1. Ping – The first thing that you should do is add additional ping services to your WordPress blog. You must have administrative rights to your blog and be logged in to gain access the ping service option .

2.  Usability – Specifically usability theories/rules that are specific to the area of blogs. Not all web design usability applies to blogs. There are also times when these theories can be amended. It can be tricky at times, but we are here to help you 🙂

3. Color – Different colors mean different things and certain colors are better at getting a certain message/feel across than others depending on the topic your blog covers or your goals. This is where the color of psychology is important and some graphic design skills is handy as well.
4. Typography – While typography is always important in web design, it is especially more important in blog design, because it pretty much the essential blood to a blog design. Using the wrong type, too many types, or not having any rhythm could ruin the experience of visitors.
5. Visual interest – You can build and design a blog following everything, but one of the keys to a good blog design is visual interest. What is visual interest? It is that something extra that makes it appealing for the eyes to look at, easy to read, and makes people say wow all in one. It is all about the details here, every pixel matters .
6. Statistics – How else do you plan to measure the success of a blog design or where to improve on if you are redesigning one? Just cause it looks nice, doesn’t mean it is working nice. This is where you will find what works and what doesn’t.
7. Continual Improvement (redesign) – I believe there is no such as thing as a complete design, there is always room for improvement no matter how small. The process of improving little by little over time will produce amazing results as you zero in on the design that works the best for what you are trying to accomplish.
8. Functionality – While your blog design and customization is an art, it is first & foremost an interface users use in order to get your information. And That”s why it is very important to give more life to a blog design by increasing its functionality through the use of  widgets, JavaScript, ajax, and the like.
9. Using Categories as Keywords – The easiest way to optimize your blog with keywords is to use categories that not only define each post but also relate to other posts on your blog. WordPress blog software uses categories as a way to “tag” search engines so they can be alerted that a new post has been added to your blog for a specific topic area.
10. Tags – Tags are a great way for  WordPress to organize their content. Use on tag pages and in the ‘related post’ feature at the right hand side of each article. Doing tags reasonably well is easy, doing it perfectly is quite hard and requires regular maintenance. However, it’s well worth the effort: you will get on topic links in return.
11. Call to action – Comments – Promote your blog by commenting on other blogs in your niche and linking to your blog. Do not spam. Do not leave generic comments like “great post”. Meaningful comments that add value to a blog are the ones that are likely to get approved and draw attention to your blog. When you are sharing your own tips and advice, blog visitors get curious and click on your profile. Do approve all comments left on your blog posts manually and check all submitted links. Pointing to low quality sites will hurt your ranking on Google.
12. Look for guest blogging opportunities – Guest blogging is a win-win situation for both, the blog owner and the guest blogger : the blog owner saves time by not having to write the post, and the guest blogger gets a backlink to his or her blog.

2. Networking

One of the biggest criticisms given to Facebook is that it is ‘just for kids’. This is not the case and, although the medium was set up to enable college and university students to communicate and keep in touch, there is no easier, or cheaper way of communicating with large numbers of people and of getting peer-reviewed information.

In life we ask others for their opinions and we form our opinions based on what peers, friends, family and critics have to say. In a social networking site, this is just as easy to do and it is just as easy to shape the opinions of others .

Companies can now have a Facebook page and they can easily and quickly develop a groups of fans and keep these fans up-to-date with everything they are doing. Facebook pages can be edited and updated in a fraction of the time that it takes to edit a web page & businesses can provide links to their Facebook pages in the footers of emails or on their website.

The influence of the search engine is diminishing. We do not want to be served information based upon what the search engines think is right – more and more we are getting information from our peers & seeing what they think is trustworthy. More and more people visit business websites as a result of a discussion on social networking sites and so a presence there is paramount.

There is no easier way of keeping friends, family, colleagues and contacts up-to-date with what you are doing than with social networking. Companies that find a presence here will be rewarding for going out and engaging their customers, entering into a conversation with them in order to better their products and services.

Social bookmarking sites
It is an important tool for any blogger. Since blogs themselves are a vital part of the web 2.0 atmosphere, where peer-to-peer recommendations take precedence over the traditional hard-sell, bookmarking sites help your blog URL go viral as readers share your link with hundreds of other online enthusiasts for your topic.
Every so often, take one of your best posts and submit it to one of these bookmarking sites. Others will follow the link and check out that post and the rest of your blog as well. Just make sure you also bookmark other sites so it doesn’t appear as if you’re spamming the bookmarking sites with your own links.
The list of social networking sites is endless. There seems to be a site for every area of interest. How do you compile them into a list? Just A try here
It is near impossible nowadays not to know about Facebook. It is the world’s most popular social media platform, creating a cultural phenomenon with more than 600 million users worldwide .
Twitter is a real-time information network that connects you to the latest information about what you find interesting.  Twitter is the ideal tool for distributing important business information and updates, as well as identifying trends, opportunities and potential clients in the marketplace.
Video is an extremely powerful business tool; explaining the popularity of the medium in creating emotive presentations that focus on the company and its products. The popularity of YouTube is a testament to the popularity of online video. There is no other medium which can capture an audience, keep them entertained and disseminate the marketing message. With today’s modern consumer demanding more interactive content, video is the ideal format in which marketing efforts should expand; and YouTube the perfect platform to deliver them.
