Google update – New Anatomy of Doorway Pages and Non Mobile Friendly Sites

Google recently announced they have updated  a new ranking algorithm about doorway pages and mobile-friendly usability factors & app indexing

Doorway pages- What to know and what to do ?

When was last you encountered a doorway or jump pages in  search results? Although this doesn’t often happen, Google now to rethink and suggest about doorway pages again and also a new penalty for this.

The doorway page usually has hidden text which causes a page to load via a specific keyword or phrase. Typically, they are programmed with a fast meta refresh or a redirect that brings the user to a page that the site wants the user to visit.

The problem and illicit practice is to place “doorway” pages loaded with keywords on the client’s site somewhere. The SEO promises this will make the page more relevant for more queries. Inherently, this is false since individual pages are rarely relevant for a wide range of keywords. More sinister, however, is that these doorway pages often contain hidden links to the SEO’s other clients as well. Such doorway pages draw off the link reputation of a site and route it to the SEO and its other clients, which may include sites with unpleasant or prohibited content. Continue reading
